Alex Bau is set to release his next full-length in May, entitled Being Wayne Sidorsky.
The new record heavily emphasizes something Bau considers wrongly missing from today's electronic music: bass. The concept behind the album goes something like this: Wayne Sidorsky is the voice of the average techno clubber, pleading with Bau to bring things back to the way they once were--meaning, when there was more bass. In a short story accompanying the press release, Sidorsky writes: I was sick of it, I needed more bass, that`s for sure, times of lethargy had to end, something new needed to be initiated, it was the right time... I went out to the next public telephone, took the phone off the hook and dialed his number, where else could be as in the studio: "Alex, it's Wayne, hey... listen, you need to end my pain I'm suffering from for so long now, that brought me down like a vicious circle that almost killed me... I need bass. Tons of bass! Alex, just do something!
Judging by the tracklist, which includes such titles as "Basslovers Symphony," "Seeing The Bass Picture" and "Drowning in a Sea of Bass," it seems Bau answered the call of duty.
