- The Session Victim member's first album is due for release this month.
Hamburg-based artist Matthias Reiling is set to release his debut album, Das Gespenst Von Altona, next week on giegling.
Better known as one-half of Session Victim, Reiling is a house producer who dabbled in hip-hop early in his career, and Das Gespenst Von Altona reflects this side of his taste, weaving between 4/4 rhythms and slower, more syncopated beats. Some of the tracks feature live bass and guitar, and many were produced with the help of Hauke Freer (the other half of Session Victim). The new record will be Rieling's first release on giegling, a Weimar-based imprint that opened shop in 2009.
