Electric Elephant have announced the first set of performers for this years festival, with Francois K, Andrew Weatherall and DFA artist Juan Maclean topping the bill.

Now in its third year, Electric Elephant is a quainter kind of summer festival, with intimate parties happening along the beach in the small fishing village of Petrcane, Croatia. In her glowing review of last year's edition, Jane Fitz described it as "less full-on festival, more extended long weekend to the Adriatic with 1000 new friends–pasty Brits going red in the scorching heat while someone, somewhere is dropping something vaguely cosmic on an outdoor turntable."

In addition to the names above, this year's fest will feature jocks like Todd Terje, Prosumer and The Time and Space Machine. Ramadanman will provide a dose of dubstep, and Soundstream will play live, along with psychedelic noise artists Fuck Buttons.

A pioneer of DJ culture and resident at Typhoon (near Brecia) from 1980 to 1987, Beppe has been searching for sounds off the beaten path since his first gig in 1973. Playing to as many as 7,000 people a night, producing in excess of 200 mix tapes and pioneering the 'Italo Synth' sound with his MC1 project (just reissued on Synthonic), he has just about done it all. His 'Afro'... More
