  • Monthly New York party The Bunker have announced a new quarterly residency with Berghain/Panorama Bar, starting next month with an event featuring Shed and Prosumer. Though vastly different in terms of size, The Bunker and Berghain have often shown a like-minded taste for classic-leaning house and techno. Many of the same esoteric acts have played within their respective dark quarters, such as Substance, Sandwell District and Traversable Wormhole. Most importantly, The Bunker has already hosted some of Berghain and Panorama Bar's biggest residents, including Cassy, Shed, Ben Klock and Marcel Fengler. After his first time playing their in 2009, Marcel Dettmann even called The Bunker one of his favorite parties anywhere in the world. For the kick-off event next month, the hulking Berlin nightclub will be represented in more ways than just the choice of headliners: each room of Public Assembly has been named after its Berlin counterpart, with Shed, Derek Plaslaiko and Spinoza playing in "Berghain" (i.e. the back room) and Prosumer and Eric Cloutier taking care of "Panorama Bar" (the front room). Whether the back room attracts hordes of leather-clad bald men remains to be seen.
