- The sixth edition of the acclaimed compilation series features a live set by the Frankfurt duo.
For the sixth edition of their acclaimed compilation series, Robert Johnson have commissioned a live performance by Frankfurt-based duo Arto Mwambe, AKA Phillip Lauer and Christian Beisswenger.
Known for their light-hearted and often romantic style of house music, Lauer and Beisswenger have released five sunny 12-inches since their inception in 2005, all but one of which have seen release on Brontosaurus, a vinyl-only label run by Lauer. On Live at Robert Johnson Volume 6, the pair deliver something especially fitting to the series' title, eschewing the decks for their hardware, and "simulating" an hour-long live set at the Frankfurt venue. The record features mostly unreleased tunes by Arto Mwambe, plus a couple of old favorites and their most recent single, "Love Lift."
Live at Robert Johnson Volume 6 follows up editions by Prins Thomas, Thomas Hammann & Gerd Janson and most recently Roman Flügel. It will be accompanied by a vinyl extraction featuring the tracks "Duster FC" and "One Lonely Knight," due out on the same day as the full release.
