- The Rekids boss has an artsy new sub-label in the works.
Rekids head Matt Edwards (AKA Radio Slave) has announced plans for an artistic new sub-label, entitled Pyramids of Mars.
Housing artists like Mr G, Toby Tobias, James Teej and more recently Nina Kraviz, Rekids has long been a platform for club-ready house and techno releases. Pyramids of Mars will focus on more avant-garde material, and not all of it musical; in addition to "weird records," Edwards says he'll use the label to sell books, toys, films and to promote art gallery events.
The first LP on Pyramids of Mars will come from Edwards himself under the Machine moniker. It's scheduled for a fall release, and will feature artwork from Misha Hollenbach, half of the duo Perks and Mini.
