  • Multi-talented electronic producer Thomas Brinkmann is set to release a new album this fall as Soul Center. Artistically speaking, Brinkmann has never stayed in the same place for long, so it should come as no surprise that General Eclectics marks another shift in style. Unlike his last full-length, the singer-songwriter influenced When Horses Die, General Eclectics is a funky techno LP with vocals on only two of its ten tracks. And unlike his previous records as Soul Center, which deliberately pushed the limits of sample usage, the new album is almost entirely sample free. It will mark Brinkmann's debut on the German label Shitkatapult, and will be preceded by an EP, GE 01, slated for release next week. Tracklist 01. Marmelade 02. Hal2010 03. Boot Box 04. Fu_ky Du_ky 05. Walk With Me 06. Don't Fake The Cake 07. Pig Peg 08. Shum(ichi) 09. Liza U.. 10. Dyr Bul Scyl Shitkatapult will release General Eclectics on September 11th, 2010.
