The latest compilation from UK house establishment Defected Records will be Defected In The House: Bali '10, a two-disc mix inspired by the Indonesian island's club scene.
Tucked away in the South Pacific just above Australia, Bali has become one of European clubber's most far-flung destinations, thanks to a growing contingency of nightclubs and regular appearances by international DJs. On Bali '10, Defected attempts to embody the island's club sound by enlisting two jocks who know it well: France's DJ Gregory and Indonesian act Anton Wirjono. The former has graced the decks at Bali's clubs numerous times over the past few years, while the latter is a primary force behind the island's club culture, thanks in part to his role at Junction, Bali's biggest house music festival. Comprising tunes by Tensnake, Quentin Harris and Afefe Iku among others, the two-disc package promises to be a fittingly sunny and upbeat affair.
