- The post-disco duo's first album is slated for release this fall.
French production duo Bot'Ox will release their debut album, Babylon By Car, this October on Parisian label I'm A Cliche.
Since 2005, Bot'Ox have pushed a raw disco sound that draws as much inspiration from Kraftwerk as from the gritty sounds of post-punk and New York no wave. The duo have always ahd a weird fixation on cars, as titles like "Crashed Cadillac" and "Bearded Lady Motercycle Club" make clear. Their first full-length presents a handful of new tunes, plus selections from their past few EPs, like including the post-apocalyptic title track, which first saw release two years ago on Death From Abroad, DFA's import arm. Guest appearances come courtesy of Mark "Bogus" Kerr, who sometimes sings for Joakim, and Judy Nylon, formerly of the late '70s art-rock band Snatch.
