- The Warp mainstay is set to debut on Busy P's label.
Later this month, Ed Banger Records will release the next EP by IDM innovator Tom Jenkinson, AKA Squarepusher.
Entitled Cryptic Motion, the record presents an unexpected pairing of artist and label. Over the course of his long and prolific career, Jenkinson has released all but a few of his records on Warp, the London imprint that also houses artists like Aphex Twin, Autechre and Boards of Canada. Ed Banger, on the other hand, is a more recent sensation, having entered the mainstream consciousness in 2007 thanks to Justice's Cross. The two labels have collaborated in the past, namely on the WARP/ED party last year in Paris, which billed Clark and Hudson Mohawke alongside Mr Oizo and Sebastian. According to a press release, Ed Banger has always been inspired by Warp and has long hoped to release something by one of their artists.
Cryptic Motion features one new production by Jenkinson, who appears as Squarepusher presents Shobaleader One, plus a remix by Banger mainstay Mr Oizo. Streams of both tunes are available on Soundcloud, courtesy of Hypetrak.
