- The UK duo have prepared a mix for their new residency in New York.
In celebration of their residency at FIXED in New York, Simian Mobile Disco have whipped up a new mix CD, fittingly entitled Simian Mobile Disco Is Fixed.
James Ford and Jas Shaw's stateside residency just kicked off earlier this year, but the duo's relationship with Fixed goes back a bit longer. "Josh and Dave [of Fixed] were the first people to put us on in America," says Shaw, who describes the party as "a beacon of hope in a sea of generic bangers. It has a broad, classy music policy and is set to follow in the footsteps of legendary nights such as trash and Optimo." Doing their best to meet this high standard, Ford and Shaw mix up tunes by Conrad Schnitzler, Paul Woolford and DJ Hell, plus their latest production "Nerve Salad." The mix will see release on New York-based imprint Defend Music.
