The lineup for this year's Moogfest has been announced, with Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and MGMT leading the charge.

Conceived as an ode to the pioneering instrument builder, Moogfest focuses on artists it believes "embody the essence of Bob Moog's visionary and creative spirit." Until now, the event has always been a one-night gig in New York City, but after teaming up with AC Entertainment (the team behind Bonaroo), Moogfest has expanded to a three-day festival in Asheville, North Carolina, the city Moog called home for much of his life. This year's edition will take place over Halloween weekend at the Asheville Civic Center.

Other artists tapped for MoogFest 2010 include Panda Bear, Dam-Funk, Caribou and Dan Deacon. A healthy dose of hip-hop has been included as well, with Big Boi, El-P, RJD2 and DJ Spooky all set to perform. On the more experimental tip, Matmos and Emeralds have both been booked, along with acclaimed sound scientist Four Tet.

Update: Moogfest have announced that seminal rock group Devo have been added to this year's bill, along with downtempo producer Bonobo and jam outfit The Disco Biscuits.
