- The electronic pioneer's next full-length is slated for release this fall.
Production innovator Brian Eno will release his next album, Small Craft on a Milk Sea, this November via Warp Records.
With a career spanning nearly four decades, Eno has had an immeasurable influence on electronic and popular music. Prior to releasing a slew of classic avant-rock albums, he produced and played keyboards for Roxy Music, and over the years did studio work for superstars like David Bowie, U2 and Coldplay. But his most cutting edge work was arguably in electronic music; experimental records like Music for Airports and Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks helped form ambient music, a term some say Eno coined himself, while albums like My Life In the Bush of Ghosts, his collaboration with David Byrne of Talking Heads, championed the use of sampling.
Small Craft on a Milk Sea will mark Eno's debut on Warp. It was produced alongside fellow experimental artists Jon Hopkins and Leo Abrahams, and will be available in a variety of forms, all of which are lavishly packaged. In addition to the CD (which comes in an eight-panel digipack), two different box sets will be available: the Limited Edition Box Set and the Collector's Edition Box Set. Both pack in three versions of the album—on double vinyl, "audiophile quality" digital files and a CD with four bonus tracks—alongside a lithographic print of new artwork by Eno, while the Collector's Edition Box Set also includes a unique, hand numbered silkscreen print.
