  • Radioclit's The Sound of Club Secousse is a new 14-track compilation that celebrates the music of their regular London/Paris-based party of the same name. Etienne Tron and Johan Karlberg, AKA Radioclit, may have risen to prominence through their standing in the dance scene but it seems the duo are being truly excited by much more obscure sounds these days: "We launched our Club Night Secousse in 2008 with a simple challenge in mind: to bring people together and promote worldwide ghetto culture," explained Tron on the inception of their Secousse night. "Mainstream music culture was becoming an oppressive and stagnant machine, dance music was stuck and our interest in hip hop was quickly fading out. We were thirsty for exotic sounds, and started exploring as many local ghetto scenes as we could." Radioclit's fascination with African sounds also manifests itself in their "Afro-electronic" band The Very Best (they're two thirds of the outfit), who are currently supporting Vampire Weekend on tour. The offered selection The Sound of Club Secousse is said to take in artists from right around Africa who best represent the "the wealth of hot electronic dance music" on the continent. Tracklist 01.
