  • The next edition of Greater>Than will feature guest sets from Coyu and Cesar Merveille. The brainchild of New York native Michael Vieira, Greater>Than launched at Manhattan spot Cielo last month with a plan to explore the tribal and afro-beat influenced side of deep house. Slotting perfectly into that niche this week will be Spanish artist Iván Ramos, best known for the bongo-driven hit of 2009, "El Baile Alemán". Produced under Ramos' artist name Coyu, and in collaboration with Edu Imbernon, the tune remains a perennial percussive house favorite more than a year after its release. Joining Coyu in the booth on Thursday will be Cadenza's Cesar Mervielle, making his second New York appearance for 2010. The London-based DJ and producer has made a name for himself in recent years with his brand of bouncy minimal techno, most notably heard on his 2008 solo effort "Chocopop Jazz", and his mambo-referencing effort with Pablo Cahn-Speyer, "Tribute". Tickets for Greater>than presents Coyu and Cesar Merveille are currently available here on RA.
