- Barge Recordings will release the electro-acoustic duo's debut album next month.
American experimental duo The Fun Years are ready to release their debut album, God Was Like, No.
Since 2004, The Fun Years have used samples and baritone guitar to create fuzzy, shoegaze-style style drones, ala Fennesz or Tim Hecker. They've put out a handful of CD-Rs and mini-albums to date, with such titles as Why We're All Below Average and Now That's What I Call Droning, Vol 4. Though much of their output has flown under the radar, the duo's audience widened significantly last winter when their track "I'm Speaking Through Barbara" was included on the 2009 edition of Kompakt's Pop Ambient series, followed by an appearance at Mutek that summer. God Was Like, No will see release through Brooklyn-based experimental imprint Barge Recordings.
