Hercules & Love Affair have announced details for their anticipated second album, due for release in the UK at the end of January.
Blue Songs will come out two years after Hercules & Love Affair's debut album. Released on New York's esteemed DFA imprint, that record launched Andy Butler and co to widespread acclaim, earning accolades from indie channels like Pitchfork and landing in top 40 charts across several countries, thanks in part to the single "Blind," which featured vocals from Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons. Blue Songs has its share of guest appearances as well: Bloc Party's Kele Okereke sings on the track "Step Up," and German techno artist Patrick Pulsinger co-produced the album. Hercules & Love Affair regulars Kim Ann Foxman and Shaun Wright also lend their vocal talents. Details for the album's US release are still forthcoming.
