  • The seventh edition of Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz series is due for release next month. For the past 15 years, Farina has championed a style of DJing that hovers easily between hip-hop, jazz, house and down-tempo. He showcased this eclectic sound throughout the early '90s on mixtapes and at his Jazid Up parties in San Francisco, eventually coining the term Mushroom Jazz with his first official compilation in 1996. The style has since become his calling card, and has characterized dozens of records and commercial mixes, including a contribution to the Fabric series. Mushroom Jazz 7 stays true to form, cruising through nearly 20 mellow breaks and R&B-flavored tunes by artists like Lurob and Tommy Largo. Tracklist 01. Lurob - Down The Road 02. Slakah the Beatchild - Macheeto 03. Nathan G - Colorblind 04. Andy Caldwell feat. Rico de Largo - Southern Plumperz 05. Joshua Heath - More 06. Tommy Largo - It's The Beat 07.
