  • Detroit jock Stacey Pullen is set to return to Australia, touching down this week for a series of dates across the country. It has only been a little over 12 months since Pullen last graced Australian shores for a national tour. This time around, the DJ, who has long been known as a representative of Motor City techno's second wave, will be spinning four sets. In terms of sound, Pullen is well known for bringing subtlety and warmth to the techno and house he mixes up, often choosing to stay below the 130-BPM mark that many of his Michigan peers frequently exceed. However, he's also no stranger to banging out jacking techno. Over the years, he's put together several commercial mix CDs that display the diversity of his DJing style, most recently his 2009 effort for UK label 20:20 Vision, which blended smooth house with more hard-hitting techno. Pullen will kick off his Australian tour this Saturday with a set in Chinese Laundry's Cave. Dates in Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne will follow next weekend, hitting Geisha, Savvy Bar and OneSixOne in each of the three cities.
