  • Barcelona spot BeCool will host techno pioneer Derrick May tomorrow night. Alongside childhood friends Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, known together as the Belleville Three, May is considered one of Detroit techno's founding fathers. He was instrumental in popularising the sound internationally, through seminal solo productions like "Strings Of Life" and with the wide reach of his Transmat label, which was revived last year. This Friday he'll reprise his summer appearance at BeCool, supported by local jocks Andres Andreas and DJohnston. Next weekend, BeCool will be steeped in retro dance floor sounds, with Tiger & Woods appearing on the Friday, followed by Azari & III on Saturday. Tiger & Woods have become a hotly-tipped duo amongst disco followers, with a number of cheeky edits for the white label imprint Editainment, while Canadian duo Azari & III have reworked the classic Chicago house formula with popular singles like "Hungry For The Power", and their BeCool show comes ahead of their forthcoming debut album for Tiga's Turbo imprint. The following weekend will carry on the disco influences, with an appearance from John Talabot, the mysterious Barcelona-based producer, who will head up the Permanent Vacation label night. Tickets for Derrick May and other December dates at BeCool are available right here from RA.
