  • Henrik Schwarz will this evening play the opening party for the newly expanded D-Edge. The "new D-Edge" has become an ongoing point of amusement among Sao Paulo's clubbing community. Several dates for the unveiling of the expansion have been set over the last 18 months, only for the plans to ultimately be postponed. So after a lengthy wait and considerable amounts of gossip, it's fair to say that this evening's opening of "D-Edge 2.0" has been a hotly anticipated event in the city. In summary, the expansion includes a new main entrance/exit, an extra dance floor on the second floor with a 250 capacity, a new lounge housing a further 150 and a 50-person roof terrace. This is in addition, of course, to the existing D-Edge space. "The expansion is not about quantity but about quality," the club's owner Renato Ratier told us earlier this year. "Giving our public more options to relax and have fun at our club and enhancing the service that we already provide have always been the main points. "The possibilities enclosed in this project are endless, as well as the potential to take more chances in the musical field," he added. "It just seemed natural that having more physical space would increase the opportunities for the DJs and the public to interact and create new moments." Ratier will be among the DJs putting D-Edge 2.0 through its paces tonight. He'll be joined by Innervisions' man Henrik Schwarz who will perform one of his soul and jazz drenched live shows. DJs Davis, Luiz Pareto, Márcio Careca and Houssein Jarouche have also been billed to appear.
