Irish drum & bass label Subtle Audio Recordings have announced details for their next compilation, simply entitled Volume II.

In his review of their first collection from two years ago, John Citizen said Subtle Audio "makes a conscious effort to position themselves as an alternative to the drum & bass mainstream." The same could be said of Volume II, a three-disc package whose 42 tracks approach drum & bass from a variety of different angles: some more ambient, some more broken beat, others with a tinge of electro, etc. The compilation features established artists like Nubian Minds and Russia's Kontext (AKA Dissident) joining a raft of young producers like Mindmapper and NicTVG, the latter of whom delivers the surprisingly delicate "Sorry I Puked On Your Dress."

The first two discs of Volume II are both unmixed, while disc three shows label boss DJ Code bobbing and weaving through 16 of his favorites from the imprint, both new and old. The compilation will be accompanied by a double 12-inch sampler featuring new tracks from Mecca, Accidental Style, Requiem and others.
