  • Rob Da Bank revealed the first batch of artists for next year's Bestival this morning via Twitter, announcing 16 acts billed for Saturday, September 10th at the enormous bash on the Isle of Wight. The biggest names announced so far are rock legends: The Cure, Primal Scream and former Beach Boy Brian Wilson. The rest of the bill so far is overwhelmingly electronic, with a range of styles represented across a dozen or so artists. Early Warp act Mark Bell will play as LFO, and festival favorites Magnetic Man will appear as well, along with dubstep and funky vocalist Katy B. Robyn and Crystal Castles will bring the electronic pop, while A-Trak and Boys Noize keep the party rocking. On the hip-hop tip, New York pioneer Grandmaster Flash has been confirmed, along with turntable virtuoso DJ Shadow. Dial artist Pantha Du Prince will offset the festival's over-the-top atmosphere with a bit of subtle and melancholy techno. According to Rob Da Bank, more acts for the festival will be announced in early 2011.
