  • Early next year, Boys Noize will release a compilation of acid-inspired tracks by himself and a crew of like-minded producers, entitled Super Acid. The Roland TB-303 first hit music shops back in 1982, and it wasn't long before artists like DJ Pierre were using it to create the warbly, over-driven sound that came to be known as acid. It's a style that's still fetishized in electronic music today, and few artists are more enamored by it than Boys Noize. On Super Acid, he invites fellow electro house artists like Feadz and Erol Alkan to indulge their love of the 303 more than ever before. Their approach on the album is notably un-purist. "Some of the producers on this compilation spent their time with all kinds of analog gear and mixers to have the original 'warm' sound they love and some others just use a fucking laptop," says the label. "Some, well most, of the producers on this compilation have used the classic Roland 303, some used a 303 clone, a 303 plug-in and some even rocked the 303 iPhone app." Super Acid features mostly unreleased material, and will be available as a double-vinyl pack as well as on CD.
