  • EXIT Festival have announced the first handful of acts for their 2011 event in Serbia. Topping the bill is one of the Renaissance stable's biggest names, UK jock James Zabiela. He'll be making a return appearance to the festival after a closing set in 2006, which saw a surprise MC appearance from drum & bass legend Goldie. Quebecois scene leader and Turbo Recordings boss Tiga is set to man the decks as well. Other early confirmations include indie giants Arcade Fire, UK nu rave group Hadouken! and Gramophonedzie, one of Serbia's homegrown DJs and producers. Set at the Petrovaradin Fortress outside the city of Novi Sad, EXIT began as a form of student protest more than ten years ago and has since grown into one of Central Europe's biggest annual events. Now in its 12th edition, the festival will feature hundreds of rock and electronic acts on 20 different stages over three days this July. For a better idea of what the festival is all about, take a look at Christine Kakaire's review of last year's event.
