  • Pioneer have today announced the launch of two new controllers: the DDJ-S1 and DDJ-T1. First up is the DDJ-S1 for Serato ITCH. The unit looks ostensibly like a pair of CDJ-200s meshed with a two-channel mixer, and additional ITCH functionality. The bulk of these ITCH-specific controls are located on the mixer, with dials and buttons for browsing at the top and FX either side of the centrally located three-band EQs. The DDJ-S1 also features "multiple" inputs and outputs, which includes a balanced XLR inout/output (one of each) and a pair of microphone inputs. The DDJ-T1 for Traktor, meanwhile, is a four-channel unit that comes bundled with a new "DDJ-T1 edition" of Traktor. A dedicated FX section adorns the top of each of the two decks (which is said to mirror exactly the corresponding controls on the software), and is backed-up below by looping functions. Browsing controls again appear at the top of the mixer. For full specs and images head over to the Pioneer site. The DDJ-S1 will be released in April 2011 at a suggested retail price of 1299 euros/£1099. The DDJ-T1 will be released in mid-February 2011 at a suggested retail price of 1099 euros/£899.
