  • Oslo gets new nightclub, Jaeger image
  • Oslo just received a new addition to its clubbing landscape: an intimate new spot called Jaeger. Since the closure of Oslo clubbing institution The Villa in September, Ola Smith-Simonsen, the man behind the seminal Sunkissed nights, has worked relentlessly with local producer Kaman Leung and Scott Jacobsen to find a venue to fill the gap. Set in the space of former rock club Garage Oslo, Jaeger will consist of two floors, both equipped with Funktion One sound systems. The club debuted this past weekend with sets from Oslo disco mainstays Todd Terje, Diskjokke, Rune Lindbaek and Dj Strangefruit of Mungolian Jetset, plus a smattering of younger talent, including Øyvind Morken of Luna Flicks and deep house newcomer Davidow. Looking ahead, Jaeger's booking will focus primarily on local acts, though some international guests have been confirmed as well. This Saturday night they've got Panorama Bar house maven Prosumer, and next month Ata and Oliver Hafenbauer will fly in from Frankfurt for a Live at Robert Johnson showcase.
