  • Mutek have announced the first set of artists confirmed for this summer's festival, taking place from June 1st through 5th in Montreal. As in years past, the focus is on live electronic performers, many of whom peddle a sound not specifically built for the club. Four Tet will play the festival for the first time, along with Wareika and Elektro Guzzi, both of whom will make their North American debuts. Modeselektor will make a return appearance, and Ninja Tune will be represented by Luke Abbott and Amon Tobin. Deadbeat perform with visual accompaniment by Lillevan (of Rechenzentrum), and Canadian artist Akufen will make a rare appearance as Horror Inc. Other highlights include Mika Vainio, Floating Points, FaltyDL and Traversable Wormhole. Saturday night's headlining DJ set will come from Border Community boss James Holden. The festival will take place at various indoor and outdoor spots in Montreal's Quartier des Spectacles, though info on specific venues is still forthcoming.
