- A new album from the Animal Collective member is due out this spring.
Details have been revealed for the next full-length by Animal Collective member Noah Lennox, AKA Panda Bear, entitled Tomboy.
The album compiles new versions of songs that originally came out on 7-inches over the last year. They were recorded in Lisbon, where Lennox lives, then mixed in New York by Peter Kember, AKA Sonic Boom, a former member of '80s drone-rock group Spacemen 3 who also produced MGMT's Congratulations. According to a "mixer's press release" that Kember posted on MGMT's message board, the two musicians got in touch after Kember first heard Lennox's acclaimed 2007 album Person Pitch and noticed a shout-out to Spacemen 3 on the sleeve. Tomboy will be Panda Bear's fourth solo album yet, and will come out on his own Paw Tracks label.
