Derrick Carter and Mark Farina headline District 36

- The two house DJs will share the booth this weekend in New York.
- Basic NYC will host house heavyweights Derrick Carter and Mark Farina this Saturday at District 36. Both jocks are Chicago natives who took different paths to international acclaim; Carter kept it local and became a hero of Chicago's underground house scene, while Farina moved to San Francisco in the early '90s to pursue a deeper, jazzy sound that would eventually develop into his Mushroom Jazz mix compilations. The two musicians continue to stay busy today, with Carter recently tapped for the venerable Fabric mix series, and Farina releasing Mushroom Jazz 7 late last year.
