  • Sydney venue The Forum will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. In its six years of operation, The Forum played host to some of electronic music's biggest acts. Located in Moore Park's Entertainment Quarter, the venue's recent roster includes the likes of Sasha, Flying Lotus and Carl Craig. In addition to its nighttime parties, The Forum regularly served as an indoor stage at the numerous annual festivals held across the Entertainment Quarter. Since its entry, The Forum has been managed by Waterfall Entertainment, a company that were the onetime owners and operators of Surry Hills' Gaelic Theatre. The Forum's owner is in the midst of negotiating a new lease with new national operator, though whether the venue will continue to host live entertainment is unclear. In a statement issued earlier this week, Damien Comerford, Waterfall Entertainment's director and booker, explained that, "The landlord has decided to capitalise on the success of Waterfall Entertainment and The Forum by negotiating a new lease to a national operator. I am delighted with everything we have achieved at The Forum and I would like to publicly thank my team who have worked tirelessly to help establish the Forum as one of Australia's best live music venues."
