- Return to the Center features tracks from all of the label's usual suspects.
Time To Express will release its first label compilation next month, entitled Return to the Center.
The collection marks the Belgian label's three-year anniversary. Founded in Brussels by DJ and producer Peter Van Hoesen, Time To Express originally grew out of the avant-garde label Foton Records. Over the years it forged a dark and atmospheric sound that made it a favorite among DJs and techno purists. Much like the label's catalog in general, Return to the Center focuses mostly on Van Hoesen's own productions, under his own name and as Object (his old experimental alias) and in collaboration with Donato Dozzy or Yves De Mey (as Sendai). Some new names appear as well: Tr_nch, IORI and SP-X. Lucy of Stroboscopic Artefacts delivers a remix of "Defense Against the Self," the closing track from Van Hoesen's debut album, Entropic City.
Return to the Center will be released as a digital compilation. Seven of the tracks are already available on 61 Center Returning, a three-part series of vinyl EPs, while the other six are previously unreleased.
