- The Detroit luminary hits Dublin this month for two consecutive nights.
Veteran producer Mike Huckaby has been lined up for two very different appearances in Ireland next week.
Friday's warm up at The Grand Social will show Huckaby mining the back catalogue of experimental jazz figure Sun Ra. The date coincides with the late composer's birthday, and also with the release of Huckaby's Sun Ra Re-edits EP for Rush Hour offshoot label Kindred Spirits. The night will echo a similar event that took place in Berlin last year, with Huckaby playing Sun Ra classics on vinyl, and creating live re-edits with a reel-to-reel tape machine.
The following night will tread a more traditional Huckaby path, with a DJ set of deep house, acid, techno and disco at The Ormond Wine Bar. There he'll be supported by local jocks and MN to That residents Niall Kirk and Damien Waters.
