- Lowtec, John Roberts, Kassem Mosse, Black Jazz Consortium and more all feature on the Dial sub-label's first collection.
German deep house imprint Laid will release its first label compilation this June.
Laid was conceived in 2009 when the crew behind Hamburg's Dial imprint (Pawel, Carsten Jost and Lawrence) hired Dor, a DJ from Tel Aviv, to run their new vinyl-only subsidiary out of Berlin. It didn't take long for Laid to get attention, earning praise for early releases by Rick Wade and John Roberts among others, all of which sported a no-frills, often contemplative deep house sound. The label went on to release 10 12-inches in total, showcasing American producers along with friends from other German labels, such as Lowtec and Kassem Mosse from Workshop or Smallpeople and Christopher Rau from Smallville. Laid Compilation will be released on CD in a "super-special" digipak, will consist entirely of songs that were previously available only on vinyl.
