  • New Jersey-based artist Dayve Hawk will release his next album as Memory Tapes this July. Hawk is known for his for hazy brand of electronically-enhanced indie pop, a style that's earned him comparisons to so-called "chillwave" artists like Washed Out or Toro y Moi. The former frontman of a band called Hail Social, he self-released a few digital EPs in relative obscurity before winning critical acclaim in 2009 with his first album, Seek Magic. His new one is called Player Piano, and if the first single "Wait in the Dark" is any indication, it stays true to the dreamy aesthetic Hawk has established. That song is available to stream right now via SoundCloud. The full album will see release on Carpark Records in the US and Something In Construction in Europe. Tracklist 01. musicbox(in) 02.
