The event will now take place at Houghton Hall in Norfolk.
Three weeks ahead of the event, Glade Festival have changed their venue to Houghton Hall in Norfolk.
The event was scheduled to take place at The Mansion House in Bedfordshire, just 40 minutes outside of London. In the official announcement posted earlier today, festival director Ans Guise was vague as to what happened with that venue, saying only that the trustees "decided they didn't want the event after all, despite contracts signed and deposits paid." This is the second change of venue for this year's festival: though the first was never revealed, Glade said they had a spot confirmed in Warwickshire before switching to The Mansion House in April.
Guise says the new location has all the things that are essential to Glade Festival: trees, space, and a location that's secluded yet accessible. But it's also a considerable hike from the original venue—roughly two hours by car. Guise addresses this by saying, "We know this is not ideal but is a damn sight closer than Portugal or Germany!"
This is not the first time things have gone awry for the English festival: last year's event was canceled altogether a month before the date.
