This July, Dust Science Recordings will release the second album Dadavistic Orchestra, entitled Dokument .02 .The Black Dog , and Psychick Warriors of Gaia, a Dutch collective that were active from the late '80s through the beginning of the '00s. Both have been known to get pretty out there on their own (see The Black Dog's Music for Airports ), but take it a step further with Dadavistic Orchestra, a project that takes its name from the abstract art movement that blossomed in reaction to World War I and laid the groundwork for everything from surrealism to punk rock. The outfit's first release was a two-track exercise in ambient drones, and though Dokument .02 looks a bit more like a regular album, it too has an experimental framework: none of the tracks have beats, and all clock in somewhere past the ten-minute mark.
