  • Community radio station FBi Radio will be putting on this year's edition of their annual Sydney Sounds Like fundraiser early next month. FBi has been one of Australia's most recognised volunteer-based radio stations for several years now. Broadcasting from Alexandria, a suburb south of the Sydney CBD, the station plays host to programs from number of Australia's dance music identities, most notably the onetime RA podcaster and recent Exchange subject Simon Caldwell. This time around, with a lineup largely bypassing house and techno, the fundraiser has booked a slew of Sydney bass artists, with Westernsynthetics, Monk Fly and Prize each set to spin. Elsewhere on the bill, the warped hip-hop of Hermitude and disco sounds of Kali will also make an appearance amongst almost one dozen other acts. The fundraiser, which is scheduled to run alongside a more rock-oriented event happening the previous weekend, will take place on July 9th, kicking off early at 9:00 PM.
