- Planet Mu readies its latest footwork release from another Chicago producer.
DJ Diamond's debut album, Flight Muzik, will come out this August on Planet Mu.
Mike Paradinas has been championing the sound of footwork through his Planet Mu imprint since releasing DJ Nate's debut album, Da Trak Genious, last year. The label has since acted as a floodgate enabling otherwise Chicago and Youtube-locked material from the scene to enter into the wider bass consciousness, thanks largely to the Bangs & Works Vol. 1 compilation. The sound has been appropriated by UK artists like Addison Groove, Boddika and Andy Stott (as Andrea).
Following on from DJ Nate, DJ Rashad and DJ Roc, 24 year old Karlis Griffin, aka DJ Diamond, is the latest artist from Chicago to be released through Planet Mu. After debuting on Bangs & Works Vol. 1, Flight Muzik will be the producer's first full-length.
