  • St. Petersburg deep house night Russkiy Detroit will come to Berlin club Chez Jacki on Friday 5th August. Russkiy Detroit has been bringing some of deep house's foremost DJs and producers to St. Petersburg venue Griboedov Club since 2008. In that time the likes of Pépé Bradock, Audio Werner, Mike Huckaby, Patrice Scott and Daniel Bell have all stopped by Russia's second city. The party celebrated its third birthday in the middle of last month, with Canadian turntable wizard Jeff Milligan picking up headlining duties. Their gig at Berlin's Chez Jacki early next month represents not only Russkiy Detroit's debut in the city but that of Vakula as well. The Ukrainian producer has been lighting up deep house circles in the last 12 months through his work on labels like Firecracker, 3rd Strike and Dekmantel (read the review of Picture Of You for the latter here.) He'll be joined by Moscow-based Ethereal Sound boss AntonZap, who, in a similar manner to Vakula, has been quietly and consistently warming himself to deep house audiences in recent years. Baaz from the Quintessentials label will further compound the deeper vibes, while a highly capable support cast including US producer Alland Byallo, locals Barbara Preisinger and Richard Zepezauer, and Russkiy Detroit resident Lluck will also be in attendance.
