Plastikman announces 2011 tour

- Richie Hawtin will bring his updated live show to Europe and the US this year.
- Plastikman Live 1.5 will debut at Amnesia in Ibiza on August 5th before hitting other cities in Europe and the US. Designed in collaboration with visual architects Derivative Inc., Hawtin's Plastikman live show is an audio-visual spectacle with an interactive edge. The performance debuted at Time Warp in Mannheim in 2010, and has been a fixture of electronic festivals in Europe and North America ever since. This August Plastikman returns with another tour, incorporating new visuals, music and improved technology to further blur the lines between audience perception and participation. Dubbed Plastkman Live 1.5, the show has once again been developed by Ali Demirel and Jarrett Smith from Derivative Inc. It will make its first appearance on August 5th for the I Want My MTV concert series at Amnesia, before touching down in New York for a set at Electric Zoo. The accompanying SYNK app has also been relaunched with a number of new interactive elements and features including a live chat and live behind-the-curtain camera feed. "These dates will represent the last opportunities for fans to catch Plastikman Live in its current form: the 1.5 version of the show we've spent nearly a year of fine-tuning," says Hawtin. "After that, Plastikman will be returning to the shadows to begin work on a brand new 2.0 concept. The fall tour will be full of surprises, and the performance will continue to be spontaneous and unique for every show–the way I believe live music should be performed in 2011." Minus artists including Marco Carola, Magda, Gaiser and Ambivalent will be supporting the tour, which ends in Turin, Italy on December 7th.
