- Scottish techno producer Alex Menzies, AKA Alex Smoke, will touch down in Melbourne for sets in Melbourne and Sydney next weekend. Some readers might recall that the last time Menzies played in Melbourne, he left with a collapsed lung and was subsequently hospitalized and forced to cancel a string of Australian tour dates. Since then, the Hum+Haw founder has kept up a hefty gig schedule, taking his melodic, synth-heavy techno to DJ booths in Europe, Asia and the US. This time around, Sydney audiences will be able to catch the Glasgow native in action at Chinese Laundry, where he'll be playing after headlining the August edition of The Likes Of You at Brown Alley.
