- The techno trio's new LP emulates the sound of their live act.
The Black Dog will release their next album, Liber Dogma, this October on Soma Records.
The UK trio have kept it pretty experimental on their last two albums: 2010's Music For Airports was both ambient and highly conceptual, and this year's Dokument .02 showed them get their drone on with the Psychick Warriors of Gaia (forming the collective Dadavistic Orchestra). Liber Dogma, on the other hand, is all about the heavy, visceral techno you get when you see them in a club. "We always wanted to make an album that reflects the kind of set we play live, and that's what we've done with Liber Dogma," says the group. "This album is about surrendering to hypnotic, physical music played loud in big, dark rooms." The album comes in mixed form to further the live effect.
