  • Serato have announced details of Serato DJ Intro, a new entry-level software solution designed for use with selected controllers. The program is based on Serato's existing DJ software Itch and Scratch, and is a two-deck system with all the standard DJ controls—pitch control, scratching, nudge, EQ—included. The software is free to download but needs to be paired with a DJ Intro compliant controller such as Numark's MixDeck/MixTrack or Vestax's Typhoon/VCI-100 Mk II. DJ Intro features include sync, five cue points and a sample player which can load up to four short samples. A bank of basic chain-able effects (three for each deck) include reverb, filter and delay. DJ Intro is set to go up against Native Instruments' comparable Traktor LE in the beginner's market. The below video doesn't really give anything in the way of additional information but does feature a group of hip looking youngsters.
