  • Substance will celebrate their fifth anniversary at Bongo Club on Friday, November 4th. Since its humble beginnings in 2007, Substance has become one of Edinburgh's most consistent sources for underground sounds, with a programming style that highlights left-field acts such as Luke Vibert alongside purist techno favourites like Surgeon and Speedy J. Their fifth birthday will have a bit of both, with Nathan Fake playing live and DJ Pete on the ones and twos. The former is one of Border Community's flagship artists, and allegedly has a new LP due out on the label in 2012. The latter is one of Berlin's most seasoned selectors: a clerk at Hard Wax, a resident DJ at Berghain and a producer under the name (fittingly enough) Substance. Tickets to the party are available here on RA.
