Sven Vath has mixed The Sound of the Twelfth Season , due out on Cocoon Recordings next month.Sound of the Season has always served a specific purpose: to bring together a slew of the records that defined the year for Sven Vath and his label mates. As a result, this year's compilation is heavy on 2011 anthems, including ubiquitous tracks like Todd Terje's "Ragysh," Steffi's "Yours" and Âme's remix of "Envision" by Osunlade. Vath includes a few gentler selections as well, kicking off the second disc (titled "Day") with the untitled A-Side from Workshop 13, Move D's latest cut of whimsical deep house. All in all, the Cocoon founder courses through more than two dozen tracks in roughly 160 minutes.
