- The two UK funky producers have a debut album in the pipeline called They! Live.
Early next year, 50 Weapons will release a collaborative album by Benjamin Damage and Doc Daneeka called They! Live.
Both artists are fresh faces on the UK bass scene, with just a handful of records between them, but they've already managed to make a strong impression. Benjamin Damage caught Modeselektor's attention early on, landing his debut track ("Zeppelin") on 50 Weapons last fall. In a review of Doc Daneeka's Hold On EP, Jack Haighton wrote: "If UK funky is to escape its zeitgeist and enjoy the same kind of longevity as the genres it makes a living from distilling, it will need records like this."
According to a press release, Modeselektor tapped the duo for an album after receiving a demo for "Creeper" from them last New Year's Eve. Once that record was complete, the two artists were flown out to a studio in Berlin where they set to work on They! Live. The album features all previously unreleased tracks.
