- The Japanese bass artist's next album will come out in February on Mala's Deep Medi Musik.
Goth-Trad will release his next album, New Epoch, early next year on Deep Medi Musik.
Goth-Trad has been one of Tokyo's main bass music exports for years. He's been putting out records for over a decade, but arguably his biggest break came in 2006, when he met Mala at a FWD>> party in London. The Digital Mystikz member released Goth-Trad's next 12-inch on Deep Medi Musik, exposing the Japanese artist more than ever before to the UK's hotbed of dubstep DJs. Not long after, Hyperdub boss Kode9 called Goth-Trad "A one-man army mutating the UK hardcore continuum in Japan."
New Epoch will be Goth-Trad's first album in more than six years, after 2005's Mad Raver's Dance Floor. According to the man himself, its inspired, but not defined, by dubstep. "The whole reason I got into making Dubstep is because it's free," he says. "You can do anything with it. I'm putting a lot of variety into the new album. Some tunes are very techie, some tunes are much more experimental, a bit glitchy."
