- The American producer has an eight-track release due out on Ghostly International in January.
At the end of January, Shigeto will release a mini-album on Ghostly International called Lineage.
Zachary Shigeto Saginaw has a close relationship with Ghostly International: both call Michigan home, and Shigeto listened to Ghostly's records for years before debuting on its sub-label Moodgadget in 2008. Since then he's appeared exclusively on the Ann Arbor imprint. Lineage comes a year after his debut album, Full Circle. It comprises eight textural and hip-hop-influenced electronic compositions. As its title suggests, the album is in some ways an ode to Saginaw's recent ancestors and the way they were affected by World War II. The cover depicts his great-grandfather's house in Hiroshima, and the inside for the vinyl sleeve shows his grandfather at Amache Internment Camp in Colarado.
