Electronic Music record shop and distributors to Australia for almost 5 years Hardware have decided to close up shop, to continue putting time and effort into other endeavours. A few excerpts from their press release suggest the reasons why and what ahead for the Hardware brand:We at Hardware have a special announcement. On Friday 31st May, Hardware Records and Hardware Distribution will close it doors after almost 5 years of supplying Australia and particularly Melbourne, with the finest electronic music. The Hardware CD and newly commenced Clothing label will continue, and local sales of Hardware music will be available to stores via our friends at Shock Records.
Hardware Events and Tours will continue to operate as normal, brining it’s quality events Hardware, Belfast, Universe, NYE, Two Tribes and 3 exciting new projects to the table in 2002/2003.
More exciting news is that our production office will re-locate in the Prahran/Greville Street area sometime in June/July and our new website will be and running shortly. It is now common knowledge that Hardware and myself are working very closely in the film industry with local film company Lightstream Films which we will continue to do, hence the decision to also let go of the music sales side of things. RA would like to wish Hardware the best in all their endeavours in the future.
